Thank you to this year’s presenting sponsor of the 2026 Niska-Day Parade
2025 Parade Grand Marshall
Niskayuna Community Foundation
25 Years of Investing in Local Solutions
It started as a community-wide brainstorming session on ideas to engage Niskayuna’s young people. When the conversation revealed broader community needs, the goal evolved to making life better for everyone in town. That’s how the Niskayuna Community Foundation (NCF) was born nearly 25 years ago – by the community, for the community. NCF is an affiliate and geographic fund of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital District.
NCF Board President Allison Schultz remarked, “NCF is grateful and we’re especially honored to be Grand Marshal for this year’s Niska Day Parade as the Foundation celebrates our 25th anniversary of service to the community. NCF has proudly marched in this event for many years because the Niska Day Parade unites our community in an extraordinary feel-good way! Schultz added that NCF’s Board of Directors is planning a slate of community-wide anniversary celebration events, which will include a Day of Service on June 7, 2025. “NCF’s milestone encourages us to reflect, recommit to our mission, and look ahead to the next 25 years of service—and, of course, we’ll be celebrating with our community, beginning with the Niska Day Parade!”

Food Drive
The Niska-Day Food Drive has been a part of the Niska-Day parade for over 20 years. Named in honor of its founder, Nancy Gorgos, the Drive is now run by her daughter, Debra Gorgos.
There are a variety of ways to donate non-perishable food as well as personal care items! Shopping carts, donated by the Niskayuna Co-op, are pushed at the end of the parade by volunteers. Feel free to place as many items as you can into the carts. The Food Drive Truck will also be parked near the Niska-Day Information Tent from noon to 3 p.m. during Niska-Day and donations may be placed in the truck.
This year, all donations will go to the Sycamore Collaborative (formerly known as the SICM Food Pantry) out of Schenectady, New York. We look forward to your continued support of this charitable tradition!
